# Startup Collective ## We build what businesses will run on next. Startup Collective discovers important business problems and turns them into focused AI-powered products, inside one shared venture foundry in Melbourne. - Contact: hello@startupcollective.io - Based in: Melbourne, VIC, Australia - Foundry status: operating · 13 ventures, 14 products · 1 in beta ## What we build Startup Collective discovers important business problems and transforms them into focused AI-powered products — inside one shared venture foundry. An idea becomes a venture only if it shares these characteristics: - Problems with meaningful operational friction - Markets where AI can materially improve outcomes - Products with recurring workflow value - Platforms that grow stronger through data and feedback - Opportunities adjacent to problems we already understand deeply - Businesses capable of becoming independent, durable products ## The portfolio ### Startup Suite — In build Build the business before the business builds around you. Startup Suite helps founders transform ideas into structured plans, financial models, strategic decisions and investor-ready outputs. - Validation Chamber, Bay 01 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/startup-suite/ - Product site: https://startupsuite.ai/intro/ ### Engyn — In build Turn AI from a tool into an operating capability. Engyn coordinates agents, skills, workflows, memory, governance and human oversight so intelligent systems can perform meaningful work across an organisation. - Intelligence Core, Bay 02 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/engyn/ - Product site: https://getengyn.com/intro/ ### LoopLift — In build Build momentum before launch—and keep learning after it. LoopLift connects waitlists, feedback, campaigns, customers and product decisions so teams can grow with evidence instead of guesswork. - Launch Control, Bay 03 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/looplift/ - Product site: https://looplift.ai/intro/ ### EngynQA — In build Innovation moves faster when quality can keep up. EngynQA brings intelligent automation, quality engineering, software testing and AI-system evaluation into one evidence-driven platform. - Quality Chamber, Bay 04 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/testingai/ - Product site: https://engynqa.com/intro/ ### Blueprint by ENGYN — In testing See how everything connects. Blueprint by ENGYN turns complex business processes, product journeys, systems and data into connected visual blueprints. Start with the big picture, explore the detail and ask questions that reveal the relationships behind it. - Intelligence Core, Bay 05 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/blueprint/ ### Offerlane — In build Your CV, tailored to every job, from a real conversation. Offerlane interviews people about their experience, then writes a CV and cover letter matched to each role and keeps the exact version of everything they send. - Workforce Deck, Bay 06 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/offerlane/ ### SaaSWorks — Planned Run the whole SaaS, not just build it. SaaSWorks is a planned end-to-end platform for running a software business: the application foundation, then the revenue, support and growth machinery every SaaS rebuilds — dunning and recovery, ticketing, partner programmes and growth tooling in one place. - Build Floor, Bay 07 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/saasworks/ ### IdeaPilot — Planned From suggestion to shipped improvement. IdeaPilot is a planned process-improvement platform: anyone can raise a manual process or problem, peers rank it on impact and effort, and the strongest ideas become plans that reach the tools where work actually happens. - Validation Chamber, Bay 08 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/ideapilot/ ### SkillForge — Planned Build the skills before you need them. SkillForge is a planned capability planner that maps the skills an organisation has against the ones its strategy needs, then proposes the training and redeployment that closes the gap — so capability change does not default to redundancy. - Intelligence Core, Bay 09 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/skillforge/ ### BoardWorks — Planned The boardroom and the cap table, in one place. BoardWorks is a planned governance suite that brings the board portal, the capitalisation table and statutory reporting together — so meeting papers, ownership and the numbers under discussion stop living in three unconnected systems. - Quality Chamber, Bay 10 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/boardworks/ ### Standing — Planned Know where every contractor actually stands. Standing is a planned contractor management platform: onboarding, timesheets, approvals and invoicing for a freelance workforce — with the record of how each person was genuinely engaged building underneath it. - Workforce Deck, Bay 11 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/standing/ ### Deductions — Planned Get back the money that came off the invoice. Deductions is a planned recovery platform: it collects deduction documents from retailer portals, matches remittances to invoices, classifies every short payment, and assembles the case that disputes it. - Revenue Floor, Bay 12 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/deductions/ ### ShelfWorks — Planned From first production run to first retailer. ShelfWorks is a planned operating system for emerging food, drink and personal care brands: sourcing and co-manufacturing, the production run and its cash, retailer requirements, and the trade spend and deductions that decide whether any of it was profitable. - Supply Line, Bay 13 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/shelfworks/ ### EcomMate — Planned Know what every product earns, then act on it. EcomMate is a planned operating layer for online brands: true profit per product after every cost, suppliers as real records, and reordering driven by what the forecast does to cash rather than by instinct. - Trade Floor, Bay 14 - Page: https://startupcollective.io/portfolio/ecommate/ ## The approach — one repeatable way to build Startup Collective is an innovation company, not an agency and not a fund. Every venture moves through the same foundry, and every launch teaches the collective how to build the next one better. ### Stage 01 — Discover It starts with a problem worth solving. - Activities: Market research, customer conversations, signal analysis across the portfolio. - Output: A qualified opportunity brief. - Human + AI: AI scans and clusters signals; people judge which problems matter. ### Stage 02 — Validate Ideas are tested before products are scaled. - Activities: Customer evidence, competitive analysis, commercial modelling, feasibility checks. - Output: A defensible go/no-go decision. - Human + AI: AI builds models and scenarios; founders make the call. ### Stage 03 — Define Clarity becomes a product system. - Activities: Value proposition, business model, operating model, roadmap and success measures. - Output: A venture blueprint. - Human + AI: AI drafts and stress-tests; strategy stays human-led. ### Stage 04 — Design Strategy becomes an experience people can use. - Activities: Journey mapping, information architecture, interface design, accessibility. - Output: A tested product experience. - Human + AI: AI generates variants; designers set direction and quality. ### Stage 05 — Build Design becomes working software. - Activities: Engineering on shared foundations — frontend, APIs, data, security, deployment. - Output: Working software in production. - Human + AI: Agents accelerate delivery; engineers own architecture and review. ### Stage 06 — Verify Quality is engineered into every release. - Activities: Automated journeys, API, accessibility, performance and AI-behaviour evaluation. - Output: Evidence-backed release confidence. - Human + AI: Continuous automated verification with human release judgement. ### Stage 07 — Launch A product is not finished when it ships. - Activities: Waitlists, campaigns, communication, monitoring, feedback collection. - Output: A live product with real signal. - Human + AI: AI orchestrates sequences; the team reads the response. ### Stage 08 — Learn Every signal feeds the next improvement. - Activities: Feedback analysis, usage data, retention insight, roadmap decisions. - Output: The next improvement cycle. - Human + AI: AI surfaces patterns; product leaders decide what to build next. ### Stage 09 — Scale Compound what works. - Activities: Distribution, capital discipline, shared learning across the collective. - Output: A durable, growing company. - Human + AI: The collective’s full weight behind proven products. ## What it is for - **Plan a venture** — Turn an idea into a structured plan with validation and strategic decision support. - **Model the numbers** — Build financial models, forecasts and scenarios that stand up to investors. - **Get investor-ready** — Produce the plans, models and documents investors expect — all from one live source. - **Put AI agents to work** — Coordinate agents, workflows, context and memory into real operational output. - **Govern intelligent systems** — Keep human approval, oversight and controls built into every automated workflow. - **Compound what the business knows** — Capture context and decisions as memory that every agent and workflow can draw on. - **Launch with an audience** — Build waitlists and campaigns so momentum exists before the product ships. - **Learn from every customer** — Connect feedback, requests and roadmaps into one continuous learning loop. - **Grow after the launch** — Run campaigns and re-engage customers so growth compounds instead of spiking once. - **Prove release quality** — Automate testing across web, API and accessibility — and ship with evidence. - **Evaluate AI behaviour** — Assess agents and LLM systems with the same rigour as the software around them. - **Make confidence measurable** — Turn every release into evidence — quality intelligence a team can actually read. ## Who we build with - **Founders** — You have a validated opportunity and need a system that can build, test and launch it. - **Domain experts** — You understand an industry’s friction deeply and want to shape the product that removes it. - **Investors & partners** — You want exposure to a repeatable venture-building system, not a single bet. - **Early customers** — You want to pilot products shaped around your operation before the market catches up. ## Questions ### Where do your venture ideas come from? From business problems, not product ideas. In Discover, AI scans and clusters signals from markets and operations; people judge which problems matter. Many start with a domain expert who knows an industry’s friction first-hand. ### How do you validate an idea before building it? Every idea goes through Validate before anything is designed. AI builds the models and scenarios, and the founders make the call. The output is a defensible go/no-go decision, and a “no” ends the idea there. ### How do you make sure a product can’t simply be replaced by AI? It’s one of the questions we test in Validate. If a general-purpose AI assistant could do the job from a prompt, it isn’t a company. We look for problems with real operational friction, recurring workflow value, and platforms that get stronger with their own data and feedback. That means the product holds a business’s workflows, memory and history, which a chat window doesn’t. ### What makes you say no to an idea? If it fails the selection criteria: no meaningful operational friction, AI wouldn’t materially improve the outcome, it’s used once rather than every week, or it couldn’t become an independent, durable business. ### Where does AI do the work, and where do people decide? At every stage AI does the scanning, modelling, drafting and testing. People make the judgement calls: which problems matter, go or no-go, product direction, architecture and release. ### I know an industry’s problem but don’t have a product idea. Should I get in touch? Yes. Domain experts are one of the four groups we build with, and the next product may begin with a problem you already understand deeply. ### Are you an agency, a fund or an accelerator? None of them. Every company in the portfolio is created here, built here and held to the same standard. ### Can my business pilot one of the products? Early customers can pilot products shaped around their operation. Email us with what your team does today. ### Where are you based? Melbourne, Australia. ## Start a conversation The next product is already taking shape.
